Dear Polkamotion by the Ocean Fans,
As of this writing, the Rehoboth Beach, DE municipality complex, including the convention center,
is still closed due to Covid-19 precautions. Management has no plans to reopen anytime soon
and all planned events have been canceled through early September. As a courtesy to all our fans
and friends, we think it's best to postpone Polkamotion by the Ocean until next year so folks
can make their summer plans without waiting until later in the 2021 season. God willing,
next year's festival dates will be September 14 - 17, 2022.

Prayers are powerful ~ please continue!
Here is the most recent update on Dan Gury from his son,
Matt:
Heart rate has been low so a pace maker was put in yesterday and it went well.
The doctors are now happy with his heart rate. Aphasia is what is giving him trouble
with speaking and finding the right words to say. However, he had speech therapy today,
and the therapist was impressed at how well he was doing since the first time she saw him.
Right hand and foot are making slight improvements everyday. He slowly rotated his right wrist
and can lift his right leg about 6 inches currently. We're hoping that he
will be transferred to rehab tomorrow.

Matt: Update on my dad:
His last CT scan yesterday morning showed non threatening signs of swelling. There is 1 more CT scan scheduled for tomorrow morning to check but they think he already hit the high end of the swelling threshold. Speech is weak and frustrating for him at this time. He knows how to say very few words, but we can see him try to say things to us, gets frustrated, and says $h__. He can say yes, no, well, ok, and mhmm if you ask him a question. Sing slowly to him and he will join in if he knows the words, not clearly, but clear enough to know he's singing with you. Although, i did get him to count to 10 in Polish by helping him and he did continue to count a few on his own without my help. Yesterday we got him to move his right toes and ankle. Today we could see him try to move his lower right leg, but still not able to yet. H
e is on a puree diet as his swallow test came back not strong enough for regular food. We all appreciate the kind words and prayers everyone has been saying for us. Until the next update...

December 19th. He is going through ct scans to monitor his brain swelling and we're all praying

Henry was the Leader of Henny & The Versa J's from Pittsburgh, PA.
Henny was Inducted into the IPA Polka Hall of Fame in 2011.
